The city of Louisville has developed a new smartphone application for its 24-hour customer service center to better help residents report issues to Metro Government officials and departments. Now residents can submit requests to MetroCall 311 and the Metropolitan Sewer District from their mobile device and report potholes, broken traffic signals, stray animals and drainage issues. The application also provides garbage and recycling pickup information. From BrokenSidewalk:The app runs on the iPhone and the Windows 7 phone, but the city is expecting a Droid version sometime soon. More info here. Also, we also have a See.Click.Fix map up there at the top of the page where you can tag problems you see across the metro area.
Bike Lou suggests that all of you bikers should go out a snap photos of potholes and debris in bike lanes across the city for a more pleasant cycling experience, and we have to agree. Get snapping!
The city already has a smartphone portal available for download that includes events, restaurant inspection scores and a way to search Metro Parks, but this one appears to be more service oriented.
