Today on Here & Now

The battle over raising the debt ceiling continues, with a meeting between President Obama and House Republicans at the White House this morning. We’ll get an update on that, and hear about one woman's push to organize domestic workers. Aijen Poo says those who work cleaning homes or caring for children are an invisible army and she founded the National Domestic Workers Alliance to represent their interests.Chef Michel Nishan loves Louisville’s local food movement and wants to harness all that activity to promote healthier food for everyone. WFPL's Dalton Main talked with him about it and we'll listen to their conversation. Finally, FEMA is feeling the stress of finding shelter for thousands of homeless residents who were victims of recent flooding and tornadoes. We’ll hear some thoughts on how the organization can avoid the mistakes it’s made in the past.
