An Indiana political analyst says he expects Governor Mitch Daniels will remain active in public service after his term ends next year. Daniels announced over the weekend he would not run for president in 2012.Indiana Legislative Review Publisher Ed Feigenbaum says he wouldn’t be surprised to see the Republican accept a presidential appointment in 2013, even if the call were to come from a re-elected President Obama."Saying, 'You know, Mitch, we’ve got some real problems in this country. You’ve spoken out about them when you were governor. I’d like you to head up a commission to address the deficit, or a commission to address entitlements.' I think Governor Daniels would say, ‘Yeah, I would do that for you, Mr. President,'" he said. Feigenbaum says Daniels can also focus now on the rest of his Indiana legislative agenda, which includes an overhaul of the way local governments are structured.
