Effort Begins To Collect Photos Of Kentuckians Who Died In Vietnam

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund is working to collect photographs of all 1,058 Kentuckians whose names are on the memorial in Washington, D.C. It’s part of a national effort to gather photos for an online exhibit and for an underground education center being built near the memorial."It’s so important to connect the dots and for future generations and really put a face with the name of those people who served our country so honorably and whose names are on that Vietnam wall," says Nathan Mick, a Memorial Fund volunteer leading the initiative in Kentucky.Mick says about 250 Kentuckians’ photos have been collected thus far.(In photo, Army SP4 David B. Collins, 24, of Bardstown, Kentucky. He died in South Vietnam on June 19, 1966).
