RPK Repeats Challenge Concerning AG's Brother

For the second consecutive day, the Republican Party of Kentucky is challenging Attorney General Jack Conway to clarify his involvement in a compromised drug investigation involving his younger brother.Earlier this week, Matt Conway resigned from the prosecutor’s office for undisclosed reasons almost a year after it was revealed he lied twice about being tipped off by Louisville police detectives, who told Conway he was the target of a drug investigation. No criminal charges were filed against Matt Conway, however, police records showed associates close to Jack Conway inquired about probe and that the attorney general recommended his younger brother obtain legal counsel.“Still no response from Jack Conway,” Robertson says. “Just in case he needs to be reminded of our inquiries, the Republican Party of Kentucky will publicly submit these same simple questions to Mr. Conway each and every day until he decides to answer them.”A spokesperson with the attorney general’s office told WFPL News Wednesday that Conway never interfered in his brother's investigation.Robertson, however, still believes Conway needs to answer the following questions: 1: What are the circumstances surrounding Matt Conway’s immediate resignation? 2: When exactly, and by whom, was Jack Conway initially notified that his brother was a target in a drug investigation? 3: Did Jack Conway or anyone in the Attorney General’s office have any involvement in the criminal drug investigation involving Jack’s brother or the internal investigation that followed? 4: Why did Jack Conway and his brother meet with a private lawyer at Jack’s home and what was said during that meeting? 5: Did Jack Conway direct anyone to intervene on his brother’s behalf?
