Kentucky’s unemployment rate continues to hover around 10 percent, though it dropped slightly last month.Kentucky’s March jobless rate was 10.2 percent, compared to the February rate of 10.4 percent. In March 2010, the rate was 10.8 percent. Seven of 11 major non-farm job sectors saw job increases last month, including leisure and hospitality; trade, transportation and utilities; construction, government, education and mining and logging.The professional and business services sector saw job declines, as did manufacturing and finance, real estate and insurance.Nearly 1.9 million Kentuckians were employed last month, but 214,000 remained out of work. Nationally, the March jobless rate stood at 8.8 percent.
