The filing deadline for candidates seeking statewide office in Kentucky has officially passed.No candidates were in line when Secretary of State Trey Grayson closed the door on qualifying, and signaled the official start of the 2011 campaign.Governor Steve Beshear escaped without Democratic primary opposition, but three Republicans want his job – Senate President David Williams, Louisville businessman Phil Moffett and Jefferson County Clerk Bobbie Holsclaw.The Agriculture Commissioner’s race drew the most candidates, two Republicans and five Democrats. Incumbent State Treasurer Todd Hollenbach drew both Democratic and Republican opposition.Attorney General Jack Conway has no Democratic opposition, but faces Republican Todd P’Pool in the fall.Two Republicans and two Democrats are vying for Secretary of State and two Republicans and a Democrat are running for State Auditor.
