The Indiana Youth Institute is again asking for volunteer mentors to step forward. Institute President Bill Stanczykiewicz says mentors are adults who offer guidance and support to to young people."Late in 2010, the Indiana Mentoring Partnership conducted a survey of about 200 mentoring programs across the Hoosier State. And we found out that there are more than 1,300 kids right now on waiting lists, waiting for a mentor," he said. Stanczykiewicz says some mentoring programs involve as little as an hour per week of the volunteer's time.
