Two members of the Louisville Metro Council are hosting a public hearing tomorrow on a plan to improve a stretch of Dixie Highway. Councilman Rick Blackwell says he and Councilwoman Mary Woolridge have been developing the plan to attract more retail stores and restaurants to the corridor and to make it safer and more pedestrian-friendly."I guess we've been working on it since about August," Blackwell said. "Looking at a stretch of Dixie from Oak Street to Greenwood Road, about six miles." Louisville Mayor-elect Greg Fischer is scheduled to attend the hearing, which begins at 7:00pm Tuesday at the Southwest Government Center.
