By Sheila AshA study commissioned by the Bridges Coalition is expected to be reviewed this week by members of the authority appointed to oversee the Ohio River Bridges Project. The coalition is a group of business, labor and other leaders that favors building two new bridges and reconfiguring Spaghetti Junction. The analysis concludes that tolls could be kept as low as one dollar. Coalition member Michael Dalby hopes the authority will give the study a serious look. "Nobody wants to pay a toll, but you want to try to get the project to be built. And I think what we’re able to show was the difference between three dollars that had been thrown out there once before and now you’re talking about a dollar or less and I think it’s possible to show the public that this project can be done and it’s going to be done," he said. The Bridges Authority Finance Committee will meet this Thursday in Jeffersonville.
