Two More File For State Office

Two more candidates have filed to run for constitutional offices in Kentucky. Republican John Kemper of Lexington is running for State Auditor. Kemper made an unsuccessful bid for Congress this year, but says he does not aspire to be a career politician. β€œI’m not coming here to make friends. I’m coming here to solve some problems and once you solve those problems, I fully anticipate that they will want to send me home, which is fine. I’ll go back to building custom homes, remodeling and land development. So, I don’t plan on making this career,” he said. Rep. James Comer qualified to run for state Agriculture Commissioner. The Tompkinsville Republican, who has an agriculture degree from Western Kentucky University, runs a full-time farm operation in Monroe County. Democrat B-D Wilson of Frankfort also qualified this week to run for Ag Commissioner.
