A project designed to attract more businesses to west Market Street in Lousiville could begin soon. Public comment on renovation and beautification plans will be sought Tuesday evening.Funds for improvements to parts of west Market Street have already been approved. Metro Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton says once the public weighs in on the plans, the city could start accepting bids for the work."We're going to start with a pilot project from 38th to 39th Street and start there and then we'll move to the other commercial corridors—34th Street, 26th Street—and there should be some work beginning this fall," she says.Hamilton says she and others have also talked with the candidates for mayor about other ways to attract businesses to west Market Street.
