TELL Survey To Seek Teachers' Opinions On Education

From Kentucky Public Radio's Tony McVeighKentucky teachers next year will get a chance to give policymakers an earful about their working conditions. It’s called the Teaching, Empowering, Leading and Learning, or TELL Kentucky survey. Set to launch next March, it’s a chance for educators and administrators statewide to air their views on teaching and learning conditions. Gov. Beshear says it’s a unique opportunity for teachers to really speak out.“This survey is going to be very important because what we’re doing is asking the people who know better than anybody else, what are the kind of things that we need to change in the classrooms," he says. "What are our strengths? What are our weaknesses? And that’s our teachers.”A coalition of education groups is supporting the online survey, which will be conducted in all 174 school districts. The results will be announced in June.
