The non-profit group that's creating a four-thousand acre park system along eastern Louisville's Floyd's Fork corridor has given the project an official name and brand.
It will be known as the Parklands of Floyds Forkand will include four major parks, each named for tributaries of Floyd's Fork Creek---Beckley Creek, Pope Lick, Turkey Run and Broad Run.The 1,076 acre Turkey Run Park will be the second-largest in the city, surpassed in size by only Jefferson Memorial Forest.Major construction for the project begins next spring. It's managed by the non-profit 21st Century Parks, which has raised tens of millions of dollars for the effort.
