By Andy FreudenburgThe Kentucky Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation wants to create a state license tag to promote awareness of the disease and raise money for a cure. Kentucky JDRF spokesperson Linda Fernandez says by July 1st, her group is required to submit to the Transportation Cabinet the signatures of more than 900 people willing to purchase a tag. It has already gathered about 500 names. “We do more funding that any other charitable organization toward medical research and we believe that the people in Kentucky need to know more about our organization and by putting out the JDRF license plates we hope to increase that awareness and let people know if they want a cure of diabetes that JDRF is the way to go,” she said. The tags would be priced at $25, with $10 dollars going to the organization.More information is here.
