Louisville Sees Higher-Than-Average Temperatures

Forecaster Nathan Foster with the National Weather Service in Louisville says even for early June in Kentucky, the weather has been more uncomfortable than usual.“We’ve had highs up into the low 90’s already this year, and normally it’s around 83 in Louisville this time of year," says Foster, "so we’ve been about nine or ten degrees above average during the day and at night.”Foster says that nighttime heat has been part of the problem – it’s warmer during the day when it hasn’t cooled off at night. He says a stagnant high pressure system over the area is causing the long period of hotter-than-normal weather.Foster says the temperatures will likely continue at least through the end of the week.
