by Stephanie CrosbyThe Kentucky Derby Museum is nearly ready for its launch party in just under two weeks. The museum was heavily damaged in last August’s flash flood. Since then, the museum has been shut down and completely re-vamped.Spokesperson Wendy Treinen says they’ve been working long days over the last several months to change the focus of the museum.“The construction project is going around the clock right now," says Treinen, "we have lots of people doing exhibit installation, as well as additional shipments coming in daily, we have some graphics going up on the wall, we expect to be working until the very last minute when we open the doors.”Treinen says the new goal of the museum is to give visitors the experience of going to the Derby. It’s set to be unveiled at a launch party on April 18th.
