Two Louisville Metro Government employees have resigned following a report from the state auditor.Former director of the Neighborhoods department Melissa Mershon and special assistant in the department Carol Butler submitted their resignations to the mayor on Friday.Mershon reportedly did not follow the city's purchasing rules while working on a book about Louisville's neighborhoods. Butler is part-owner of a book publishing company and was cited for violating restrictions on doing business with the city.The state auditor's year-end review of city finances is expected this month.
