The Changing Landscape of Later Life
The life expectancy in this country has increased by around 30 years over the past century and is now at 78. Ten thousand Baby Boomers turn 60 every single day, and most have no intention of slowing down any time soon. Our longer lives and more active lifestyles are accompanied by the emergence of a new stage of life that begins at 50 - one that author Sara Lawrence-Lightfoot calls the "third chapter" of life.
