By Rick HowlettTwo Louisville Metro Council members will hold an informational meeting Monday evening on the process of renaming a section of 34th Street in honor of the late Reverend Louis Coleman.The longtime Louisville civil rights leader died in 2008 at the age of 64. Metro Councilwomen Judy Green and Cheri Bryant Hamilton are co-sponsoring legislation that would rename 34th Street from Parker Avenue south to Duvalle Drive in Coleman's honor.A public hearing on the request will be held by the Metro Planning Commission, which will make a recommendation to the Metro Council.Monday's informational meeting is at 6:30pm at the Nia Center on West Broadway.(Photo Courtesy of the Kentucky Long-Term Policy Research Center)
