by Gabe BullardThe bi-state authority tasked with overseeing the Ohio River Bridges project met Thursday.The authority's first task will be to figure out how to finance two proposed new bridges between Louisville and southern Indiana and a reconfiguration of Spaghetti Junction.The authority has made some progress toward researching various funding options. But Transportation Cabinet spokesperson Chuck Wolfe says the panel won't be able to enter into any contracts or make financing decisions until it's given final approval from the Kentucky General Assembly."Everything up to this point has been informational, and Steve Schultz, the executive director, has been in conversation with people from the financial sector," he says.The legislation ratifying the authority is making its way through the legislature now.
