An Update on Autism
May of 2013 marks the release of a new, highly-anticipated edition of that bible of psychiatry, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Proposed changes to certain classifications in the DSM-V will eliminate a separate diagnosis for the neurological condition known as Asperger's Disorder, placing it instead under the blanket of Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
