Looking at Contemporary Art
For some of us "art" means a landscape painted in oil or a vase of flowers done in watercolor. For others it means a bronze sculpture of a horse and rider or a marble statue of a goddess. Then there are the artists and patrons who prefer "Contemporary art". What? Well, "Contemporary art" is an all-encompassing term that can mean art of the moment or art since WWII. It can mean oil on canvas, Styrofoam cups in the shape of a cloud, videos or just about anything the artist chooses. So, how to work your way through the maze of contemporary art?
