Farmer Soldiers in Afghanistan
The KY National Guard’s Agribusiness Development Team (ADT) is in Afghanistan, helping farmers develop sustainable farming practices there. Water and infrastructure issues present challenges for Afghan farmers, but learning to work around the challenges puts the 80% of Afghanistan’s people who depend on agriculture for their livelihood closer to self-sufficiency. On Thursday we’ll talk with these farmer-soldiers from the ADT about their work.
