Candidates who wish to run in May’s primary election in Kentucky have until tomorrow afternoon to file their qualifying papers.Deputy Secretary of State Les Fugate says a number of potential candidates wait until the last minute.“We will actually have several candidates at our office who will file in the last hour or so," says Fugate. "We’ll have many candidates who will have their paperwork all filed, standing at the door, ready to go, and will make a decision within the last couple of minutes about whether to file or not.”He says they’ll often base those decision on who else has filed that day, or who has announcement their retirement.Fugate says they’ll have extra staff and extra computers on hand to keep the filing information as up-to-date as possible.
