Louisville Charity Sending Water Filters To Haiti

A Louisville charity has received a funding boost to send water filters to earthquake-ravaged Haiti.Metro Government, the Metro Sewer District and the Water Company have donated a total of 25 thousand dollars to EDGE Outreach. The company is sending water filtration systems to Haiti.EDGE director Mark Hogg says the as the donations come in, they will be spent on filters, equipment and operating staff."We have five systems ready to go in Haiti," he says. "It's a difficult thing to imagine, but there are tanks to store water, which are difficult to get, there are water distribution issues for folks to then be able to carry the water once the tanks are set up."EDGE is trying to raise a total of 500 thousand dollars for Haiti water filters.
