The Louisville Metro Housing Authority could choose a new manager for the Park DuValle and Liberty Green public housing developments in the next few weeks. After repeated reports of mismanagement, the authority began looking for a new management firm to replace Boston-based The Community Builders. Negotiations began in September, and authority director Tim Barry says much of the discussion was over how to handle tax credits for the developments."It's just been money. It's been reconciliation of all the various accounts at both Park DuValle and Liberty Green having to do with both the operating expenses and any surpluses that may exist and where that money should go if there are surpluses and we apparently, not apparently, we have gotten that resolved now."Barry says The Community Builders will stay involved with the projects on the financial end, but day-to-day management will be handled by a Kentucky-based firm. He expects to choose a firm by early next month.
