Haiti Earthquake Relief: How to Help

Numerous organizations around the world are joining forces to help the victims of Tuesday's earthquake in Haiti.NPR's blog, The Two Way, is compiling a list of agencies that are coordinating earthquake relief.In the Louisville area, donations can be made to Catholic Charities of Louisville, the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army.Louisville-based Presbyterian Church U.S.A. also has a relief effort:click herefor online donations.Credit card donations can be made by phone at 1-800-872-3283 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Eastern).Donors can also send checks to: Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, P.O. 643700, Pittsburgh, PA 15624-3700.Many individual houses of worship are also collecting relief funds.

Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
