Some changes could be on the way for more than thirty bus routes in Louisville. The Board of Directors of the Transit Authority of River City – or TARC – meets today to take action on a proposal to eliminate ten routes and make cuts to 22 others.TARC Executive Director Barry Barker says they tried to choose routes that affect the fewest people possible.“We basically use two criteria," says Barker. "One is the level of ridership and the other is whether or not people have an alternative. So what we try to do is cut low ridership routes, where people who do use that route have an alternative.”Barker says the changes would help close a projected two-million dollar budget deficit brought on by declining occupational tax revenue. If approved, the changes would take place in February.
