The Lousiville Metro Council's ethics workgroup will meet with the League of Women Voters Monday. The four-member panel is currently reconciling two proposals to update the ethics code for Metro Government employees. The group will meet Monday afternoon, then visit the League to discuss the legislation."Women, perhaps, always bring a different perspective to the table when you start talking about ethical behavior regarding harassment and inappropriate contact and comments and all that kind of stuff," says Workgroup Chair Tina Ward-Pugh.Ward-Pugh says the panel's original goal of releasing an ordinance by year's end will not be met. Instead, she hopes to have the legislation drafted before the political season heats up."We don't want it to become a political tool in the upcoming Metro Council races as well as the race for mayor," she says. The council's committee assignments will change in the new year, but the workgroup members will remain the same.
