From Kentucky Public Radio's Tony McVeighKentucky has seen a slight decline in H1N1 flu cases in recent weeks, and state health officials are hoping the Thanksgiving holiday weekend will help continue the trend. Kentucky Health Commissioner Dr. William Hacker says flu activity usually drops off when school is out. “In a public forum, like shopping and family gatherings, there is the opportunity for people to share germs, but they seem to have less activity related to flu during holiday periods than it is when school starts back up.”Dr. Hacker says people should remain diligent over the holidays, with frequent hand-washing and other preventive measures.
