Kentucky Officials Report Slight H1N1 Decline

From Kentucky Public Radio's Tony McVeighThere’s been a slight decline in swine flu activity in Kentucky, but state health officials say there's still more flu going around than normal for this time of year.H1N1, or swine flu, is still widespread in Kentucky, but state Health Commissioner Dr. William Hacker says there has been a recent decline in cases.“The activity level that we’re seeing right now is decreasing just a little bit from what it was a couple of weeks ago across the state, but that does not mean that we’re out of the woods,” Hacker said Monday.Meanwhile, swine flu vaccine continues arriving in Kentucky. More than 622,000 doses of vaccine are on their way to the commonwealth. That’s 86-percent of the state’s allocation, but it is arriving slowly.
