Kentucky Guard Troops To Receive Giant Holiday Card, Greetings

From WFPL's Haley HartVisitors to downtown Louisville over the next few days can sign a giant holiday greeting card for Kentucky National Guard troops serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and other parts of the world.Guard Adjutant General Edward Tonini says the gesture is appreciated.

“The reaction has just been astounding. I mean, this is a, this is a big, bold statement of how much the people of Louisville care for people in uniform, and the sacrifices that they and their families are providing. I got to tell you that it really means a lot to these soldiers to get something like this.”People can sign the card or send a personal greeting by visiting Metro Hall now through Friday’s Light Up Louisville celebration.

Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
