The Louisville Metro Council's ethics workgroup will hear from a member of the Metro Ethics Commission Monday. The workgroup is tasked with reconciling two revised ethics codes for metro employees. At their next meeting, the four-person panel will speak with ethics commissioner Larry Grant, who is one of the people who will enforce the code.Grant says he will only give advice and will not share his opinions on either ordinance."It is not our position to take sides," he says. "If I can answer a question that will help them clarify and make a determination as to what is the most appropriate, what is the most professional and correct wording in there, I will do so."The workgroup could have a final ordinance before the full council by the end of the year.
