The president and CEO of Goodwill Industries International says the recession has had a mixed impact on his organization over the past year.Jim Gibbons was in Louisville Thursday to meet with Goodwill of Kentucky representatives. He says the economic downturn has resulted in an increase in the number of people looking for bargains at Goodwill's thrift stores."Which is a good thing in terms of developing new programming, but the level of programming that's needed now across the country is huge, because the demand for services, employment, job training, placement programs, has really gone through the roof," Gibbons said.Gibbons says donations to Goodwill have generally been flat this year, but are gradually picking up.
