From WFPL's Gabe BullardStarting next month, classes will be held in the University of Louisville's College of Education for the first time this semester. The building will reopen on November 2nd, nearly three months after the August 4th flood caused a diesel fuel leak in the basement.Since then, crews have sanitized contaminated surfaces and replaced floors, furniture, walls and duct work. The 200 classes that were to be held in the building this fall were moved and faculty with offices in the building were relocated. Some offices have already reopened and everything will be back to normal on November 6th, when the Education Advising Center reopens. The College of Education is one of dozens of U of L buildings that took on water during the August flood. The total damage to the campus is estimated at $15 million.
