The University of Louisville has unveiled a so-called green dorm room.Using a five thousand dollar grant, a sustainable architecture class renovated the room in Louisville Hall. The room is lined and insulated with recycled and renewable materials and its energy and water consumption is greatly reduced.Given the energy savings the renovation will realize, Associate Housing Director Jonathan Johnson says he would like to see more rooms refurbished."I think it'd be great if we had a residence hall that was all sustainable—all green," he says. "It could provide opportunity not only for students to live but also an educational opportunity for faculty and staff…even students."There are currently no plans to renovate other dorm rooms at U of L.
