U of L Cuts Ribbon On Research Facility

The University of Louisville's newest medical research building is now officially open.Officials cut the ribbon Monday on the $143 million Clinical and Translational Research, or C-T-R building.

U of L Executive Vice-President for Health Affairs Dr. Larry Cook says scientists in 300,000 square facility will conduct research in disciplines such as cancer, gastrointestinal and infectious disease and pulmonology."As our nation debates health care reform, I think one issue is certain, and that is the need to conduct research to prevent and better treat diseases that affect our people. This is the role of an academic medical center," Cook said.The building is located at the corner of South Hancock and Muhammad Ali Boulevard on the U of L Health Sciences Campus.
