A one point five million dollar donation from the chair of the University of Louisville Board of Trustees has put the school one step closer to creating a new department in the school of medicine.Owsley Brown Frazier's donation will create an endowed chair at the Frazier Rehabilitation Institute. The new faculty member will help recruit medical staff to U of L and the Rehab Institute.University President James Ramsey says by adding more faculty with expertise in physical medicine, U of L can become a leader in rehabilitation."This gift is really part of a vision that we have at the University of Louisville, and that's to take what's currently a division at the university and create a department in physical medicine and rehabilitation and be one of the few medical centers anywhere that has such a department," he says.Over the years, Owsley Brown Frazier has donated some 500 million dollars to the university.
