First H1N1 Doses Arrive In Louisville

The first doses of the H1N1 vaccine have arrived in Louisville.Tuesday, University of Louisville Hospital became the first institution to receive its share of the 4,000 doses of nasal spray shipped to Louisville this week. Hospital spokesperson David McArthur says these initial doses will first be given to doctors, nurses and other patient care professionals."Patient care obviously a top priority," he says. "But if we don't take care of our workers who are taking care of our patients, we won't have them to take care of the patients. So we need to make sure our healthcare workers have these vaccines."Other hospitals expect to receive vaccines in the coming days with more doses coming in subsequent weeks. Healthcare workers are priority recipients for the vaccine, as are pregnant women and childcare workers. Once the priority doses are administered, the vaccine will be made available to the general public.
