KET's Mac Wall Retiring

The executive director of Kentucky Educational Television says he'll retire at the end of the year.Malcolm "Mac" Wall has been at the helm of the state's public television system for six-and-a-half years and is wrapping up a 40 year career in public broadcasting.

Wall says he and his wife will reside in Florida and in Oregon, where their first grandchild is on the way."My wife said to me, 'I don't know what zip code you're going to be in, buddy, but I know my new one,'" Wall said.   "So that with the point of having made the transition to digitial and hi-def and the completion of the big project here with our facility, it just seemed like it was the right time."Wall says he's also proud of the network's expanded presence in Louisville and its online educational intiatives. He says it's unlikely he'll be heavily involved in the hunt for a sucessor; a search committee will be appointed soon.(Photo from www.ket.org).
