Although the last couple of meetings of a Metro Council ad hoc committee created to study the August fourth flash flood were cancelled, the leaders of the committee say it is still working. The committee hasn’t met since September 9th, but co-chair Judy Green says the panel plans to meet this week. On the agenda are more questions for MSD, as well as a representative from the Abramson administration.“We want to certainly express our deep dismay of how the city handled the aftermath of the flood," says Green. She says she’d like to see some progress at the end of the ad hoc committee.“One of the goals at the end of this process is to sit down with MSD to come up with some mandates, some things that we can do," says Green. There is some discrepancy as to when that might be, Green thinks it should wrap up soon, but the other co-chair, Dan Johnson says it needs to meet for at least six months.
