From WFPL's Haley HartThe 2009 Louisville AIDS Walk will kick-off Sunday afternoon on the Belvedere. The event, which includes a 5K Run and a pet and family friendly walk, is Kentucky’s largest annual HIV/AIDS fundraiser.Organizer Brad Hampton hopes this year’s event will match the success of 2008.“Our goal is to try to match what we raised last year which was $196,000; so far we’ve raised about $133,000, so we’ve got a little bit to go, but we’re still optimistic and hopeful that the community can come out and support us,” Hampton said.He said that the funds raised will provide direct services such as food, housing, and medical assistance to those struggling with HIV/AIDS in Louisville and Southern Indiana.More information can be found here.
