Daniels To Visit China, Japan
Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels will travel to Asia this week for eleven days of business meetings. This will be Daniels' fifth international economic development trip since taking office and his fourth such journey to Asia.Daniels' office attributes 42 thousand Hoosier jobs to Japanese companies operating in the state. Spokesperson Brad Rateike says Daniels will meet with many of the leaders of those companies during his trip."A lot of those meetings are to thank the people, thank them for what they currently do, and talk about plans to possibly expand," he says. "Also there are other meetings with prospects that we haven't announced because obviously there's ongoing negotiations or prospecting that's happening now and we wouldn't want to compromise that by sharing information on it."Daniels will depart on Saturday and return on the 16th.
