Louisville's first new full-service hospital in nearly three decades will open its doors to the public Wednesday.Norton Brownsboro Hospital is located in the Brownsboro Crossing Development just off Interstate-71 and the Gene Snyder Freeway.
Hospital president Doug Winklehake says the facility, which will initially have 12 beds, will begin accepting patients at 6:00am Wednesday. "We do have scheduled surgical as well as other procedures and tests. The emergency department will open, so from that point on we'll be accepting patients from EMS or any other ambulance providers as well as walk-in patients," Winklehake said.Norton Brownsboro Hospital has a staff of nearly 600.
