A Jefferson County Circuit Judge ruled Thursday that former Pleasure Ridge Park High School football coachJason Stinson should face one trial on charges of reckless homicide and wanton endangerment in the heat-related deat of one of his players.Stinson was charged with reckless homicide in January but prosecutors asked for and received an indictment this week on the wanton endangerment charge.Judge Susan Schultz Gibson also said Stinson's attorneys could ask for a delay in his August 31 trial if they need more time to prepare their case. However, a member of Stinson's defense team tells the Courier-Journal that a delay won't be sought.Stinson is charged in the August, 2008 death of 15 year old PRP linebacker Max Gilpin, who collapsed from heat stroke during practice and died three days later.
