American Legion National Convention Begins in Louisville

The National Convention of the American Legion begins today in Louisville. About ten-thousand participants are expected to bring $17-22-million dollars to the Louisville area.Spokesperson Craig Roberts says on Saturday, they’re hosting a job fair for servicemen and women and their families.“Returning veterans from our theaters of war and elsewhere in the military are having a tough time, as well as everybody else, in finding jobs," says Roberts. "We like to help as much as possible, so I think we have close to 90 different corporations who will be recruiting at our veterans’ job fair.”Roberts says starting next week, American Legion members will discuss and vote on resolutions concerning national policies and how the organization will lobby Congress on different issues, including health care. They’re also expecting a visit from the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
