Louisville Set to Register Coolest July on Record

Throughout the entire month of July, the National Weather Service in Louisville has yet to record a high temperature of 90-degree or above – and that means Louisville is on track for its coolest July on record.July ends Friday, and forecaster Nathan Foster says it doesn’t look like the mercury will hit 90.“We’re expecting low to mid 80s all the way through the end of the week," says Foster. "Right now it looks like Thursday is going to be our warmest day, we’re expecting about 85 in Louisville. It’s possible if we got a little more sun, we could pop up to 90 degrees, but it’s looking pretty doubtful right now.”Foster says if that’s true, it will be the first time ever Louisville hasn’t recorded a high temperature of 90 or above in July.The National Weather Service’s temperature records go back to 1871.Foster says the cooler temperatures are the result of a persistent low pressure system over the Great Lakes.
