The Army Corps of Engineers is looking for input on new projects that need attention in the Ohio River Basin. The Corps of Engineers is in the midst of an 18-month project called the Ohio River Basin Comprehensive Study. Louisville office Chief of Planning Sharon Bond says they’re asking several agencies for input.“This is a survey look, an initial look, at where the problems are within the basin, where the opportunities are," says Bond, "so we can then focus our efforts in the more detailed investigations based on what we learned during the recon study.”Bond says they haven’t done a study like this in twenty years. The Ohio River Basin includes 15 states, from Kentucky to Pennsylvania to North Carolina. The study is set to be complete by the end of the year.
