Representatives from Kentucky state government are in Bethesda, Maryland today for a summit about the response to the rapid spread of so-called swine flu earlier this year. The H1N1 Preparedness Summit is for government leaders to critique the response to the outbreak and share ideas on how to improve it.Jay Blanton with the governor’s office says it’s important to look back at the process, in case of another resurgence in the fall, or another event of its kind.“What we want to learn is what are some of the best practices at the federal level and in other states as these types of things occur again.," says Blanton.Officials say a resurgence of H1N1 could come in the fall, because of cooler temperatures and children returning to school.
